Ground: Located on the south shore of Lake Erie, Lorain County has abundant rail, 3 interstate highways and cargo shipping routes.
Air: Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is located 20 minutes east (with shipping hubs and a major Continental Airlines hub) and the Lorain County Regional Airport is centrally located, with the ability to serve the entire county.
Voice and data: Lorain County has broad integration of broadband (cable and DSL) Internet and fiber optic through major telecomm carriers throughout the county. The southern part of Lorain County is served by The Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative. LMRECA is a member-owned, member-controlled nonprofit electric distribution utility, located in North Central Ohio. The electric utilities in Oberlin, Amherst, Grafton and Wellington, Ohio are controlled by the municipalities themselves.
