Manager, Retention/Expansion & Attraction Projects
Chris Kish joined Team Lorain County as their first staff member in May of 2005. During this time, Chris served as the Campaign Coordinator working with Resource Development Group on the capital funding campaign. Once the official campaign was complete in April of 2006, Chris continued on as the Operations Coordinator and worked closely with the Board of Trustees as well as the Investors of TLC.
Chris participated on all committees and sub-groups created in the development of Team Lorain County. Upon the hiring of TLC's 1st President in 2006, Chris took on the role of Economic Development Representative. Chris’ current role primarily focuses on managing the retention/expansion and attraction projects for TLC. Chris also works on the marketing of TLC as well as many of the day-to-day operations including Investor Relations and grant writing. Chris has over 18 years of administrative, marketing, and event planning in an economic development office.
Since Chris has been employed by Team Lorain County, she has become very active with many organizations on behalf of TLC. Chris is a member of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), Ohio Economic Development Association (OEDA), Mid-American Economic Development Council (MAEDC), JobsOhio. and Team NEO Business Development Partnership.
In addition to work experience, Ms. Kish is the President of the Elyria Catholic Alumni Association, President of the United Polish Club of Elyris'a Ladies Auxiliary, a Notary Public, and an active participant in the United States Polka Association, lending her expertise to many events and fundraisers for these organizations.
Chris was a member and graduate of Leadership Lorain County, "Best Class of 2014" and honored by her classmates as the recipient of the coveted Jeptha Carroll Award for Outstanding Leadership, making her the 1st woman to receieve this award in it's 16 year history.
Ms. Kish is a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School, a licensed Cosmetologist in the State of Ohio, and holds Certificates of Completion in several areas including: Microsoft Office Systems, Accounting, Quickbooks, Travel & Tourism and Event Planning and is pursuing a degree from LCCC. Ms. Kish has completed the Ohio Economic Development Association’s Basic Economic Development Training Course as well as IEDC's Business Retention and Expansion Course and hopes to continue the planned outline to become a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD).
