Steve Morey was appointed President and CEO of Team Lorain County in February of 2008, having been with the organization as an Economic Development Specialist since April of 2007. Steve brings over a decade of professional experience serving the business needs of small and middle market size companies to the position. 

Immediately prior to being employed by Team Lorain County, Steve was an Assistant Vice President of Business Banking for National City Bank.  In this role he gained extensive experience in commercial real estate, business, and SBA financing, and worked with several top economic development departments and organizations.  Steve has also lived in Chattanooga, TN and Atlanta, GA where he spent time in various positions with both Transamerica Commercial Finance and Deutsche Bank.  Over the course of his career Steve has helped many companies to get their start, optimize their finances, and expand.

Community Involvement

Steve has served on the Board of Trustees and as marketing chairman for Maingate Cleveland, an Economic Development organization serving the business community in the city of Cleveland.  Steve also serves on the Board of Trustees for Kamm’s Corners Development Corporation, located in the Cleveland neighborhood bordering the Rocky River Reservation where he is on the earned income committee. 

In addition to his board experience, the Lorain County native also volunteers on the credit committee of his parish credit union, is a Class Agent for the Elyria Catholic Alumni Appeal and a member of the Elyria Catholic QB club.

Education

Mr. Morey is a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School, received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University, MBA from Cleveland State University, and has taken additional Graduate Course Work at Case Western Reserve University.  He is an alumni member of Beta Gamma Sigma business honors society.
